The Black Keys Undergo Band Therapy in Official “Go” Video
The Black Keys have shared the official music video for a new song, “Go.” The track comes off their forthcoming album, Let’s Rock, due June 28 via Easy Eye Sound/Nonesuch Records.
The new video, directed by Bryan Schlam, finds Black Keys members Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney undergoing band therapy after five years apart. Said Carney, “It was great making this video with Bryan, partially because it was filmed at the very type of place it is making fun of."
Added Auerbach, “The video was fun, but we still haven’t spoken.”
Let’s Rock was written, tracked live and produced by Auerbach and Carney at Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville and features backing vocals from Leisa Hans and Ashley Wilcoxson. Said Carney, “The record is like a homage to electric guitar. We took a simple approach and trimmed all the fat like we used to.”

Akron garage and blues rock impressarios The Black Keys are back at it. The Black Keys have dropped their first song in over six years. “Lo/Hi” has already hit the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Rock Chart. The song scored more than 34 places to land at number 5 just a week after it started streaming. The group’s most recent top 10 hit was “Little Black Submarines” from 2012. The Black Keys’ last top 5 hit was “Gold on the Ceiling,” which went to number 2.
The Keys were formed in 2001 and paid plenty of dues before finally breaking out into the mainstream in 2010 with the album Brothers. The band won a Grammy and then dropped a follow-up, 2012’s El Camino. That album also picked up a few Grammy’s and scored them their biggest hit single, “Lonely Boy.”
Anticipation for the Black Keys’ hopefully-upcoming ninth studio album is high, and now fans have even more to look forward to. The duo has announced a big new tour, “Let’s Rock.” The tour will hit major cities in the U.S. and Canada, hitting New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Chicago, Cleveland, St. Louis, Austin and more. It will end in Vancouver on November 24. The opening act will be Modest Mouse on all dates, and Shannon & the Claims and Jessy Wilson will appear at some shows.
The duo was last seen on stage together at the 2015 Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in San Francisco, Calif.

Their last album was 2014’s Turn Blue. To date, the band has not confirmed a new album, but the new song certainly hints that could be the plan. The Black Keys will appear at the much-heralded Woodstock 50 at Watkins Glen, NY. They’ll be sharing the weekend with artists from Jay Z to Jack White. Of course, White has been in a long-running fued with the Keys’ Dan Auerbach. White banned his kids from attending the same school as Auerbach’s kids. The feud will probably be reignited by Keys’ Patrick Carney producing an album for White’s ex-wife, Karen Jill Elson.

The Black Keys 2019 tour includes Nashville concert at Bridgestone Arena
One week after releasing their first new song in five years, The Black Keys have revealed plans for a 2019 U.S. arena tour — including a stop in the rock duo's homebase of Nashville.
The "Let's Rock" tour comes to Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on October 1. They'll be joined by indie rock vets Modest Mouse, who are guests on all 31 dates.
It'll also be a huge gig for Nashville's own *repeat repeat, who recruited Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney to produce their new album. They'll open the first string of shows (including Nashville), while Jessy Wilson and Shannon & the Clams will follow on subsequent legs.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22.
Last week, The Black Keys surprised fans with the release of "Lo/Hi," their first new song since their 2014 album, "Turn Blue." Still, there hasn't been any mention of a new album on the horizon.

You can check out all upcoming Black Keys tour dates below.
