Donate Food, Feed Others

The Garden of Eatin' Food Pantry serves the most basic food needs of every guest who arrives each week for our Tuesday and Thursday Outreach Services Day between 7:30 am to 11:30 am

Normally each guest is provided Matthew's Hope Pastor Bucks  "money" to spend in the food pantry.  Want more?  Work opportunities through the varying levels of the Moving Forward Program offer additional ways to earn more Effort Points to be spent in the pantry.

Guests are allowed to shop for specific items in their allotment.  Hence, some items are in high demand in the Garden of Eatin', while others not as much (despite our desire for more guests to take healthier food options). 

The top items of greatest need in the Garden of Eatin' Food Pantry are:

Canned Meats - Vienna Sausage, SPAM, Chicken, Ham

Soups & Pastas - Hearty Soups, Canned Pastas, Beef Stew, Chili

Canned Vegetables - Corn, Carrots, Spinach, Mixed Veggies, Pork & Beans    

Snack Packs - Fruit Cups, Pudding Cups, Applesauce 

Single Serving Bars - Protein Bars, Granola Bars, Breakfast Bars

Dry Items - Cereal, Crackers, Ramen Noodles, Coffee, Instant Coffee

Bottled Water - Bottles by the case, petite bottles by the case

Donations are received at 611 Business Park Blvd. across from Orange Technical College on Story Road in East Winter Garden, any weekday, Monday - Friday, between 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Donate Food & Essentials

The Food Bank for Larimer County accepts donated food, including shelf-stable items such as canned and dry goods as well as dairy, meat, bakery items and fresh produce. We adhere to strict food safety guidelines for the food that we accept. Our staff is trained to pay close attention to date codes, especially with refrigerated products. Most of the dates on the food we distribute are not expiration dates – they are “best if used by” or “sell by” dates. This means the product is wholesome beyond the date on the product.

In addition to food items, we also gladly accept non-food items like diapers, baby wipes, deodorant, toothpaste, menstrual products and other essentials that help our clients live healthy and rewarding lives.

Anyone Can Give

 

Loaves & Fishes rescues food from grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, wholesale food distributors, churches, and corporate cafeterias. We receive donations from over 150 food donors and are always looking for more.

We accept donations of: 

  • perishable foods*
  • prepared foods
  • non-perishable (canned) foods*
  • fresh produce from gardens
  • surplus from corporate events, parties, or vendors*

*only NON-perishable food and small amounts of fresh produce are accepted at the office. Please call to make arrangements for all other perishable items.

To donate food:

You are welcome to bring any non-perishable items to our office during office hours. It works best if you box up your canned food in sturdy boxes (ie: paper boxes, banana boxes). If you have perishable items that need refrigerating or have prepared food to donate from an event, please call our office ahead of time to make arrangements. We do not have refrigeration on-site but can work with you to set-up pick-up and/or delivery times. Make certain your donation is properly stored prior to pick up to ensure the highest regard for food safety.

Canned food drives aren’t just limited to the holidays, either. Summer canned food drives are very helpful to us and our community pantries! Just Food relies on community support to do what we do. Our pantry is stocked by individual donors, food recovery from local grocery stores, and purchases made from donations by our community supporters. Because of our network of food banks, we are able to leverage every donated dollar to provide the equivalent of five meals for local families in need.
