Why doesn't Darth Vader's force-choke work and where is his lightsaber?

Well, my understanding of The Force, from Star Wars, is that it is something "that surrounds and penetrates all living things." In other words, Force powers work by manipulating an invisible something that is present in all living things. Darth Vader may have come to life is all his glory, but The Force itself is not real, therefore there is nothing for Darth Vader's Force Choke power to work on in the real world, and thus it fails to have any effect.

As for not pulling out his lightsaber, chalk it up to the writers wanting the good guys to have a fighting chance. Just from watching the trailer you linked, I don't actually see his lightsaber on his belt - maybe the mannequin of Vader didn't have a prop lightsaber? If so, then he wouldn't have one when he came to life, either.

Night at the Museum: Hank Azaria steals the show

Starring Ben Stiller, Hank Azaria and Amy Adams. Directed by Shawn Levy. 105 minutes. At major theatres. PG

With the same fantasy premise, an almost identical setting, many of the same characters and cast members, night at the museum 2 darth vader of familiar high-school humour and even more frantic energy and digital animation trickery than the original, it's safe to say Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is now officially the second property in what promises to be a lucrative, family-friendly franchise.

It's a guaranteed blockbuster, but that doesn't mean director Shawn Levy has done all he could have to make Museum 2 a particularly memorable comedy.

He picks up three years after his runaway hit concluded, with main man Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), the former night watchman at New York's Museum of Natural History, now running a successful useless gadget enterprise, manufacturing his own inventions and flogging them to the bored and gullible on TV, and occasionally visiting his old playmates – the museum exhibits that come alive at sundown – for kicks.

It's during one of these infrequent trips to his old workplace that the newly minted gizmo magnate learns – first from his earlier mentor, Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams again), and the next day from museum boss Dr. McPhee (Ricky Gervais) – that many of his nocturnal buddies, including the resentful miniature cowboy Jedediah Towns in boone county indiana (Owen Wilson), Roman centurion Octavius (Steve Coogan), Indian maiden Sacajawea (Mizuo Peck), and his favourite capuchin monkey, are to be crated for removal and storage in the bowels of the vast Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

The venerable museum Daley loves is joining the digital age and holograms and animatronics are replacing his lovable, supposedly inanimate relics, which will likely never again see the light of day.

When Daley learns that the ancient Egyptian tablet that activates the inmates' surreal after-hours life has been secreted aboard the Smithsonian-bound freight by the mischievous monkey, he fears the worst: a catastrophic mess of night-living exhibits in the world's largest museum. He must intercede.

That's the set-up. The rest of the plot is standard chaos, except for some astounding visual effects and a few more characters thrown into the mix. Among them is Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria), the evil brother of Museum 1's Egyptian ruler Ahkmenrah, bent on unlocking the door to the Underworld.

There's pesky, perky pilot Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) and Gen. George Armstrong Custer (Bill Hader), still bleating about his defeat at Little Big Horn and longing for one more redeeming battle.

Meanwhile, Ivan the Terrible (Christopher Guest), Napoleon Bonaparte (Alain Chabat) and a black-and-white Al Capone (Jon Bernthal) act as Kahmunrah's three bumbling stooges, while a 20-metre-tall Abe Lincoln (voiced by Azaria) as the final arbiter in the mayhem that ensues.

Also along for the ride, and to provide a series of sly and occasionally effective pop-culture jabs, are Jonah Hill (Superbad) in a hilarious sequence as a pudgy, self-important security guard, Kitty Hawk's flying Wright brothers, Rodin's Thinker, who turns out to be a barely articulate moron (Azaria's voice again), Darth Vader, Oscar the Grouch, and Eugene Levy and the Jonas Brothers voicing, respectively, a bobbing-head Albert Einstein doll, and a trio of singing cherubim.

But somehow most of the imaginative work seems have gone into the special effects – including some stunning inventions using iconic American paintings – rather than into a script that, with a few exceptions, falls a long way short of its comic potential.

Azaria pretty much steals the show. His stint as a vengeful wannabe pharaoh with an outrageous Boris Karloff lisp and more than a hint of camp, La Bangor daily news job opportunities aux Folles hysteria is a hoot and worth the price of admission. But his evil companions – Ivan, Napoleon and Capone – aren't given a line worth a laugh.

Hader, as the eternally unprepared Custer, makes the most of his one good line: "We're Americans. We don't plan, we do!" But he is wasted in most of his scenes.

Coogan's big moment, riding a squirrel into battle, lacks the weight worthy of his talent, and when, in the final struggle between good and evil, the movie stops while Stiller gets into a face-slapping match with a pair of monkeys it's clear the makers of Museum 2 have made a conscious decision to take the low road.

The one paved with gold, that is.

Night at the Museum: ok first off im finally glad I’m getting around to night at the museum 2 darth vader these 2 films….there one of my favorites….yes I know there’s a third one but I ain’t reviewing it….because I hated it…and forget it….so let’s get onto the plot….

• so in this film a guy named Larry Daley (played by Ben Stiller)….yeah I should say if u or majority of u aren’t Ben Stiller fans then u won’t like these films….but if u r then try watching these films….but if ur neither a fan of him or hate him and just looking for good comedy….then um watch these films….so anyways he’s looking for a job….but no one is expecting him….oh did I forget to mention his parenting a boy….named Nick….I forget what happened to the mother….ah well….so anyways….one day Larry Daley goes to the museum….and applies for a job interview there….he goes and sees the manager named Dr Mcphee….yeah I don’t know what he’s a Dr of …when he’s in charge of a museum……oh and he’s played by Ricky Gervais. ….he sends Larry Daley to the basement to meet 3 night managers named Cecil, Reginald, Gus…….there 3 old men who are night managers….oh and Walmart money card number Daley is about to land the job of being a night manager….so he meets these people……Gus….well he’s bizzare….he’s tough….and well he threatens Daley….often….in this film….I don’t know why….and Cecil….well he’s like the ring leader….anyways Cecil shows Larry around….to get known to stuff in this museum……so now Larry accepts the job……oh that night when he comes into his job….Cecil hands Larry a flashlight,  keys, and a paper that has notes and instructions…….notes and instructions to what ur probably presuming……well ill get to that in a bit…skipping a bit…that night Larry finds out everything in the museum comes to life……um what….yep exactly…his first encounter is with the giant skeletal T-Rex that’s standing on display in front of the entrance of the museum….yeah it comes to life…and he sees the creature….and Larry starts panicking….because this isn’t normal….heck he tries to leave…but the doors are locked….anyways km gonna skim over a bit….Larry sees everything in the Museum has come to life….BTW heres one of my favorite scenes

Easter island head: hey!

Larry Daley: hey

Easter night at the museum 2 darth vader head: dumb dumb

Larry Daley: yes?

Easter island head: u give me gum gum

Larry Daley: u give me, gum gum?

Easter island head: no u dumb dumb,  u give me gum gum

Larry Daley: yeah, ok first off i got no gum gum, and my name isn’t dumb dumb. My name is Larry

Easter island head: no, ur name dumb dumb….oh u in trouble dumb dumb….u better run run, from the Atilla the huns huns………

Larry Daley: (runs away)

Easter island head: see u later dumb dumb

Hahahahahahahahha 🤣🤣🤣….so skipping a bit…Larry meets a guy named Teddy Roosevelt (played by Robin Williams….may he rest in peace)…….he gives Larry information on whats happening….he tells him that there’s this tablet that has powers…and it lets the props come to life….only at night….why?….idk….just cus….also Teddy falls in love with a woman named Night at the museum 2 darth vader yeah…anyways here’s few stuff important that happens ….oh side note here’s a scene of one of Larrys encounters……also there’s a monkey in this film named Dexter….he causes some problems for Larry……I mean he pees on Larry,  he slaps Larry…as u can see in the link below….

1. Larry finds out if any of the props get outside and stay outside during sunrise…they turn to dust….yikes….BTW one of the caveman props goes outside and turns to dust…uh oh….and here’s one of my favorite scenes

2. Larry tries quiting but he returns….with his son this time….

3. So in the ending of the second act….they find out the 3 geezers are evil….thats right……turns out the powers of the tablet thats making the props come to life…has been giving these old geezers….quote on quote powers….so they steel the tablet….and Larry and his son get locked into the attraction with the mummy thats locked up in his coffin….so they decide to wake up the mummy….his name is Ahkmenrah….(played by Rami Malek)….anyways they and everyone in the museum team up……oh right sorry I forgot to mention Larry meets 2 tiny small tiny cowboy named Jedidiah (played by Owen Wilson)….and a small tiny roman named Octavian………anyways they team up to go chase down the 3 geezers……they stop Gus and Reginald…who are still in the museum….Cecil escapes….so they get onto Rexy….if ur wondering who Rexy….is….well its the giant T-Rex…….so they chase down Cecil….they grab the tablet back……and get all the live props back to the museum…who have escaped….so they get all the props back….into the museum….and no Night at the museum 2 darth vader doesn’t loose his job….in fact he gets to stay……oh and the film ends with him at the night shift and all the props are alive and having a party….no wish I night at the museum 2 darth vader …they are partying…….the end….honestly I love this film….I recommend watching the film….im gonna give this film a solid 9/10

Night at the Museum 2 Battle at the Smithsonian: so let’s get onto the plot….

• in this film……Larry Daley quite his job and started trying to see flashlights….don’t ask….but one day he goes back to the museum…turns out there sending alot of the props….to Washington DC at the Smithsonian….I forget why….but anyways basically all the main characters are being sent to the Smithsonian….except for Teddy Roosevelt and Rexy and Ahkmenrah…….and other props….and the tablet…….but ill get to that later…….ok ill mention it now…the monkey from the first film….takes the tablet with them….I forget its name….oh right Dexter….so anyways Larry Daley heads to his apartment….and that night he gets a called from Jedidiah…he tells Larry that the monkey brought the tablet with them to the Smithsonian…….and now there alive….and some guy named Kah Mun Rah……(Ahkmenrah brother)….well evil brother…….is after the tablet….so now Larry Daley has to go up to Smithsonian all the way in Washington DC….so when Larry Daley gets there….he has to find a way to get into the basement of the Smithsonian….he does that by stealing a guards key card….BTW funny scene….I won’t spoil it….anyways Larry gets into the giant basement……unfortunately it was turning to night….so he grabs the night at the museum 2 darth vader thats in the storage container with all the props from the museum…….if ur wondering how they got in there….well Kah Mun Rah…and his guards locked our main characters up in the shipping container….so now since its night time…everything comes to life….including Kah Mun Rah………so Larry is told by Kah Mun Rah he wants the tablet….to um raise the dead from the door to the underworld……yeah heres one thing with this film series….is that….there’s no cohesive thing when it comes to that tablet….in the first film….it can bring museum objects to life….in the second film…it can and does get used as a key to open up the underworld….in the third film….it all a sudden starts um rusting …and if it rusts up all the way….all the props turn back into props….oh and the way to get it un-rusted…is by ….sigh….aiming it at the son….good golly…do u see what I mean when I say no cohesiveness?….oh BTW in the third film we get introduced Kah Mun Rah and Ahkmenrah family…thats right…first film we get introduced to Ahkmenrah….in the sequel…we get introduced to his brother…then in the third film…we get introduced to the family…….how clever….no seriously…….so back to story….Larry tricks Kah Mun Rah to follow him to a crate that he calls the cube if Rubic……😏……they open it and a giant octopus 🐙 came out of it……and starts attacking them…….so anyways Larry gets saved by a guy named General George Armstrong Custard (played by Bill Hader)….and oh boy ain’t he funny……so skipping a bit….he gets introduced to a woman named Amelia Earhart….(played by Amy Adams)…….eh….im just ….eh about this casting……she becomes the love interest for Larry…….😑😑….don’t think about it to long because it makes no sense….a wax figure….wanting to have her way with a person…….ok im just gonna say….skip….so anyways Kah Mun Rah tells Larry to get him the combination to the tablet…so he can open the gate to the underworld….and how does he convince Larry…well he puts Jedidiah inside a time glass…and he has till over a hour to get the combination….or else he will die…….so Larry and Amelia Earhart head out to find the combination……oh while this happens……Kah Mun Rah hires some goons……Napoleon Bonaparte,  Ivan the Terrible,  and Al Capone (played by Bernthal….u may know him from the walking dead as Shane….or his role as the Punisher….in the Netflix show The Punisher)….so anyways also side note we get a dumb joke where I kid u not…Darth Vader and Oscar Grouch….try to join Kah Mun Rah team….😑🤦‍♂️….I I just don’t know why……and why is Vader silent in this scene?….guess they didn’t gave enough money to hire James Earl Jones….to voice vader….so anyways Kah Mun Rah sees Larry leaving the building…so he thinks he’s escaping….but nope…instead Larry and Amelia are heading to one of the other buildings to talk to the bobble head Einsteins……just “role” with it ….bum bum ding….🤦‍♂️….so he sends his goons onto Larry……sigh…….anyways Larry and Amelia find the bobble heads….but first time with a little interaction with Honest Abe

Abe Lincoln: May i just say,  u 2 make an adorable couple.

Larry: oh no were not, no no were not i mean, were nor a.

Abe Lincoln: were not a, i mean were not a…blah blah blah…I never lie…the truth is u 2 are adorable together.

hahahahahahahahha 🤣 🤣 🤣….so anyways they get to the building and find the bobble heads…….turns out the combination is PI….if u don’t know it….think its 3.14159265359……so yeah……now without the code….napoleon Bonaparte and the rest find Larry…so they have to escape on a plane……sure….they crash land into Kah Mun Rah throne room he made….and this leads to my favorite scene…

“Ah u did all 3….u did all 3….u spoke and put ur hand across the line!”………….hahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣…….so night at the museum 2 darth vader Larry ends up not telling him the code…instead Al Capone comes in and tells him the code…….which now allows him to open the ….u know I ain’t saying it again….

So yeah after this cool spectical….Abe Lincoln comes in and sends the demons back to the underworld….yes Abe Lincoln….u heard that right….because there’s a giant statue of him……so anyways now with the army back in the underworld…and Larry about to be killed….Larry’s friends come and start attacking Kah Mun Rah and his men….which lead to a battle in the Smithsonian….get it…because its the title of this film….anyways during this battle….we get my favorite scene….before that…Larry bump into Dexter and another monkey named Salvation army food bank peterborough ur wondering why 2 monkeys…well its to do the same gag from the first film…this time double the monkey….so anyways onto my favorite scene

Larry: ok ill hand over the tablet and code…whos in charge?

Al Capone: oh, that be me

Ivan the Terrible: hands off peasant,  im the only one here with noble birth

Larry: oh I thought it was napoleon,  because of the big hat

Napoleon: (tries grabbing it)

Al Capone: (slaps napoleon hand) if u put ur dirty little hands on that tablet it be the last thing u ever touch.

Ivan the Terrible: why would u touch little nippie!

Napoleon: (speaking french) I an handle this ok

Ivan the Terrible: u can handle nothing!, u can barley speak u fool!

Al Capone: do u know what?…(pushes Ivan to the floor)…ill give it to u…u see that?!…(slaps napoleon in the face)….

Then that scene ends with both of them tackling each other…….lolo….hahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣….anyways then Larry bumps Kah Mun Rah…and they get into a sword fight….I saw sword fight but Larry usess a flashlight

So yeah after this epic-ish….battle happens….while Amelia is opening the gate to the underworld……as u can see….Larry beats Kah Mun Rah……wow….lost to a night guard with a flashlight….how …”flashy”?…ok ill stop with the dad jokes…….woo-hoo day is saved….and Amelia flies all of Larry and his friends back to there museum….that must have take alot of trips….anyways the film ends with museum reopening….and now have a night time showing….no one knows that the props are alive…they and the manager thinks this is all  Animatronics……just go with it….so yeah the museum is back….and I really like the end credits because of the music….the end credits music is of my only favorite Jonas Brothers music….thats right….the Jonas Brothers….

The end….overall I really love this film….I highly recommend it….im gonna give this film a solid 9/10

10 Best The Night At The Museum Quotes

The Night at the Museum franchise had plenty of memorable quotes, but which were the funniest of them all?

The Night at the Museumfranchise produced plenty of memorable characters, played by beloved actors like Dick Van Dyke, Robin Williams, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, and more throughout the series. The franchise added more fun characters along the way, including Lancelot and even Darth Vader and Oscar the Grouch.

Larry and his friends embarked on plenty of adventures, and with those adventures came plenty of unforgettable scenes and quotes to go along with them. Audiences certainly remember the Easter Island Head's fondness for gum and Rebel Wilson's memorable performance as a night guard at the British Museum who fell for Laaa.

10 "Yes, Yes, Do Go Back Into The Underworld! Thank You For Coming! Goodnight!"

Octavius is understandably cheery as he says the above quote to the rapidly retreating warriors that Kahmunrah had summoned from the Underworld in the second film. Kahmunrah is naturally devastated as he's losing his army thanks to the intimidating Abraham Lincoln statue that has managed to shoo them away, and he begs his army to remain, though they flee as quickly as they can. Octavius's farewell is a hilarious end to an army that didn't last long, and it was a sure sign that Larry and the rest of the good guys were bound to defeat Kahmunrah and his recruits.

9 "Listen Up, Kemosabe. This Rodeo Clown Wouldn't Know A Flapjack From A Flyswatter."

Jed (Owen Wilson) is a miniature cowboy, and he's hilarious in all three films. In the second film, he whispers the above quote to his friend Octavius while they're trapped, along with several of their friends in the Smithsonian. The "rodeo clown" that Jed is referring to is none other than General Custer (Bill Hader), who turns out to be a real asset, but initially doesn't give the others the best first impression. There's nothing like a night at the museum 2 darth vader cowboy to have on the team, and Jed has plenty of witty quotes, including the one above, throughout the series.

8 "You'll Rue The Day You Mocked Us With Your Huge Sword And Hypnotic Blue Eyes!"

Octavius seems to be enamored with Sir Lancelot, as he shouts the above quote while Lancelot is making his getaway with the tablet when they need it most in the third film. Octavius's infatuation with Lancelot doesn't stop there, as Jed later comments that "it really is hard not to look at" in reference to Lancelot's melting nose, and Octavius replies with "yes, he is" obviously meaning that Lancelot himself is a sight not to be missed.

RELATED: 10 Funniest Quotes From Rushmore

It's pretty funny how captivated Octavius is by Lancelot, despite the fact that for a time, Lancelot was their enemy for having stolen the tablet.

7 "If You Leave Those Gates, I Swear To You, Your Hideous Doppelgänger, Who Looks A Lot Like The Lead Singer Of The Counting Crows, Will Get It!"

Rebel Wilson plays night guard Tilly at the British Museum in the third installment of the Night at the Museum franchise. Naturally, she's a hilarious character, and up until she discovers that the magic of the tablet brings the museum exhibits to life, she's not exactly crazy about her job. She shouts the above great ab workouts at home at Larry, who's trying to catch Lancelot, as she holds a captured Laaa and night at the museum 2 darth vader her hammer around in a threatening manner. She gets Larry to surrender, landing him and Laaa in lock-up until they eventually escape.

6 "It's The United States Of Don't Touch That Thing Right In Front Of You."

Jonah Hill plays a guard at the Smithsonian in the second film, and he's nothing short of uproarious. He engages in an argument with Larry over not touching the exhibit, and during that argument, he says the above quote in response to Larry mentioning that he thought they lived in a free country. Hill is witty, but he's not fast enough when Larry pulls a move on him and ultimately snatches Hill's security key card without Hill knowing.

5 "I'll Kiss Your Staff."

When Larry and the rest of the gang finally reach Ahkmenrah's parents, Larry asks if the tablet can be fixed. Ahkmenrah's father says that in order to fix it, he'd have to reveal the secret of the tablet, and his first inclination is to keep the secret. The above quote is Larry's response, which is hilarious as only moments before Ahkmenrah's father had requested that Larry kiss his staff, and Larry had opted out of it.

Thankfully, the group of friends learn the secret of the tablet, and hurriedly race to ensure it gets moonlight to repair it before it's too late.

4 "Are You Crackin' Wise? I Oughta Punch You In The Nose, Hopscotch."

Mickey Rooney plays the cantankerous and hilarious night guard, Gus, in the first and third films. He says the above quote to Larry in the first film just prior to Larry's first night working in the museum. Gus is always ready for a fight, especially with Larry, whom he seems to dislike immediately upon their first meeting, calling him "lunch box", "snack shack", and of course, "hopscotch", among other monikers. Gus has plenty of great lines, the one above showcasing his humor.

3 "Just Simplify. There's Just Too Much Going On Here. You're Evil, You're Asthmatic, You're A Robot. And What Is, What Is The Cape For? Are We Going To The Opera? I Don't Think So. Sorry. Goodbye."

Kahmunrah is definitely a memorable villain in the second installment of the Night at the Museum franchise. The above quote is his advice to Darth Vader, when he and Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Streetcome by, hoping to join up with Kahmunrah, and are subsequently rejected and sent on their way. Darth Vader especially doesn't seem pleased with Kahmunrah's decision, but considering Kahmunrah ended up losing anyway, he and Oscar were better off.

2 "What Are You Staring At? Stop Looking At Me! What? Have You Never Seen A Beautiful, Attractive, Gorgeous Woman Before Who Could Be A Model If She Didn't Love Pizza So Much? I Know What You're Playing At, And It Ain't Working. Not Working. Wait. It Is Kind Of Working."

While Laaa is guarding Tilly, ensuring she stays where she is so Larry and the others can track down Lancelot and fix the tablet before it's too late in the third film, the two share a moment. Laaa is initially pressed up against the glass, simply watching Tilly with a look of wonder in his eyes.

RELATED: 10 Funniest Quotes From Malcolm In The Middle, Ranked

Tilly is initially immune to his charms, but soon succumbs to them and falls for Laaa. So much for Laaa's charms not working.

1 "You Give Me Gum-Gum!"

The Easter Island Head, voiced by Brad Garrett, has a well-known love for gum, and calling Larry "Dum-Dum." "Dum-Dum" isn't the nicest nickname, but it becomes a term of endearment for Larry. This particular exchange between Larry and the Easter Island Head is one of the most memorable moments in the first film, and in the Night at the Museum franchise as a whole. Their exchanges are pretty funny, and Larry ends up bringing the Easter Island Head all the gum he can chew.
